By accessing winstonstumpgrinding.com (the “Website”) or requesting services from Winston Stump Grinding (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms. You represent that you are at least 18 years old.
Our Services
Winston Stump Grinding provides stump grinding and surface root grinding for residential and commercial customers in Winston-Salem and the surrounding Piedmont Triad. We grind stumps below grade; we do not perform tree removal, full stump or root extraction, chip haul-away, topsoil fill, or grass seeding unless specifically agreed in writing.
Estimates, Quotes, and Pricing
Estimates are provided free of charge and are based on the information and photos you give us. Pricing starts at a $200 minimum, and every job is custom-quoted. Because no two stumps are the same, any price provided by phone, text, or photo is an estimate only and is subject to change following an on-site inspection. You will receive a firm, all-in price before any grinding begins.
Scheduling, Weather, and Cancellations
We make every effort to arrive as scheduled and will communicate with you if anything changes. Because our work depends on safe conditions, appointments may be delayed or rescheduled due to weather, equipment issues, or other circumstances beyond our control.
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Your Responsibilities
To help us work safely and efficiently, you agree to:
- Confirm you are the property owner, or that you have the property owner’s permission for the work to be performed
- Disclose the location of any private underground utilities, irrigation lines, septic components, cables, pipes, or other structures near the work area that would not be identified by a standard 811 utility locate
- Clear the area around the stump(s) of obstacles, furniture, vehicles, and debris before we arrive
- Ensure we have safe and clear access to the work area
Underground Utilities and 811
We call 811 to have public utility lines located before we grind. However, 811 locates do not cover privately installed lines and structures (such as irrigation systems, invisible pet fences, low-voltage lighting, private water or gas lines, or septic systems). You are responsible for identifying and disclosing these to us in advance. We are not liable for damage to private utilities or structures that were not marked or disclosed before work began.
Property Conditions and Cleanup
We take care to protect your property and to grind below grade so the area is ready for grass, sod, or mulch. By the nature of the work, some minor and unavoidable disturbance to the surrounding lawn, beds, or hardscaping may occur. Unless otherwise agreed, wood chips generated by grinding are left on-site as mulch, and we tidy the immediate work area. We do not haul chips away or provide topsoil fill or seeding unless separately agreed in writing.
Payment
Unless otherwise arranged in writing, payment is due upon completion of the work. We accept cash, check, and major credit and debit cards.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to our services or your use of the Website is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for damage to undisclosed or unmarked private utilities and structures.
Website Use and Intellectual Property
The content on our Website — including text, graphics, logos, and images — is our property or used with permission and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use it for commercial purposes without our written permission.
Any photos or information you send us may be used for the purpose of preparing your quote and performing your job. You grant us a non-exclusive license to use the materials you provide for these purposes.
